Società Numismatica Italiana (Italian Numismatic Association) is a non-profit educational organization founded in 1892. For the first time ever it welcomed, among its members, the major Italian scholars and collectors of the time, including S. Ambrosoli, the Gnecchi brothers, Count Papadopoli, Professor A. Salinas, G. Sambon and C. Luppi.

It is the Company’s aim to further research and foster the study of coins, tesserae, coin weights, medals and seals.

Among its several activities it’s worth mentioning the issue of Rivista Italiana di Numismatica e Scienze Affini, the oldest scientific magazine in this field in Italy, yearly gathering qualified papers and essays of Italian and foreign experts.

The Association organizes workshops, educational seminars and conferences hosted in collaboration with Scholars and Numismatic Associations from all over the world.

It has a library, accounting for one of the largest specialized collections in Italy, open to non-members, too.
